Grade 5 DigiTime with robots
Since March, the Grade 5 students started a weekly Digi-Time. They looked closely and explored the complexity of the robot by using the Harvard’s Agency by Design thinking routines. They explored the Parts, Purpose and Complexity of the robots, understanding how the screws and bolts, electronic board and metal parts work together to build a mechanical robot. They looked into Parts, People and Interactions and how robots interacts with people in the real world then students learned about how different sensors work on a robot and eventually tried to code the sensors to perform a task. They used the Empathy, Define, Ideate prototype to redesign a new robot to solve a problem they identified around the school.
