Gr 5 Infusing Robots into Wearable Art Fashion Show

The Grade 5 had four weeks of Artist in Residence programme with YES Talent, a group of Fashion & Architecture graduates from HKU,PolyU and CUHK. Ms. Laura Liguori, teacher for the 1-1 robotic pilot class came up with the idea of infusing the robots into the fashion show.

Students in 5B worked to redesigned their robots, taking the wheels off the robots and replaced them with legs.

Apart from the engineering side of the making, students also used SketchUp to design a preliminary prototype before learning how to use TinkerCAD to create a new 3D parts with precise dimensions that fits on their robots.

Students also coded the robots to experiment the behaviour of the robots on wheels, calculating the distance for the catwalk.

Knowledge of Math such as dimensions, distance, volumes as well as proportions were applied throughout the entire process. Please enjoy the wearable art fashion show highlight in the following video.
